I ruffled feathers today at church, so I'm going to ask the same questions here. And you don't have to answer them I just want people to think about them

If tariffs really do bring everything back to the US on what land? Where are we growing our food? Where are we growing our cotton? Where do we keep the sheep and the cows and the chickens? Where do the factories go? What about the people?

If companies are getting tax breaks how do we regulate it to make sure they are using those extra funds to hire people? To buy products? Last time they raised prices and fired people and found loopholes that allowed them to receive money so how do we prevent that from happening again?

If Trump doesn't support Project 2025 then why does everyone around him support it? If Biden was showing symptoms of dementia and that made him a puppet, why I can't I be concerned about the same for Trump? He's older than Biden was, he sundowned at a rally.

If Trump is Christian then why does his book ban include the Bible? If Trump is Christian why does he think he doesn't need to ask for forgiveness for his sins? If Trump is Christian what fruits of the spirit does he exemplify? If Trump is Christian why did he make his own version of the Bible!? If Trump is Christian than why does he and his followers put him above Christ and think he is the king of "Christian City"!!!!?????

You can look up the full clip i found it on someone's yt video showing the full thing and saying how it's being twisted cause they didn't add in that people need guns for protection if you live in the rural areas or dangerous cities etc I've lived in both and i don't own a gun i never felt the need to get one honestly if i did I'd be in more danger with it then without due to 2 reasons 1. I'm extremely suicidal on a good day and 2. Im extremely angry and homicidal on a bad day I'm one of the people that shouldn't have access to guns because im mentally unstable and thats why i don't that doesn't mean i couldn't fake it and get one and i know it would probably be pretty easy they need responsible gun owners and responsible gun laws yes you should have a option to protect yourself and have one if you need it but it doesn't need to be an ak 47 or anything similar I'm not familiar with a lot of guns so input any in which you could take out a crowd of people easily that many bullets does not taste good in deer i know that

One major major problem in the world is just that the common person kinda doesn't see any benefits from companies in their country doing well, the economy has become kinda totally decoupled from standards of living (like the US economy has been killing it the past few years... being an american though... not seeing much of that)

Examples, the most obvious one is how the stock market can be going wild and meanwhile it just gets more expensive to put food on the table. Economists tend to act like the stock market is such a good indicator of how a country is doing but... ordinary people just don't see the returns

Second example for the US, we've been exporting so much liquefied natural gas ever since russia invaded Ukraine. You look at the charts and our sales just skyrocket... how much has that helped actual people?

My example here is how when companies find cost saving measures, how often is that passed onto the consumer. Whether it's through deregulation, or firing staff, or something actually positive like figuring out a more efficient method of doing something... how often does it get cheaper? Cause honestly if anything they seem to tend to raise prices because of how much "better" it is (Arizona Ice Tea is like the one exception, they worked hard to keep their price low. I don't even drink their stuff and I'll still sing their praise)

And yeah, this is about the US, but I feel like this is true for most countries

My honest thought on why this has become so decoupled is that most of the money these days ends up being captured by upper management types and shareholders (like you see these companies making record profits and yet... are their employees any better off?), but... honestly my point in this post isn't to say why, it's just to point it out

Cause can you look at how the US economy is currently doing (insanely good) and tell me it has anything to do with how most americans are doing?

And again, I feel like this really isn't just a US problem, I feel like a lot of countries, their companies might be doing well and the "economy" might be doing well, but everyone in the country is doing really poorly

Just some thoughts... it's not like any of us are policy makers, but it's just some thoughts any time I listen to stuff about economics

Scenarios I am immediately preparing for:

1) Gender markers on my docs being reverted

2) Shadow ban of trans HRT (likely still accessible, but severely restricted for good chunks of the trans population - see FL, for example)

3) Tariffs making everything super expensive

4) Loss of same-sex marriage rights

5) Online presence as a trans person criminalized as pornographic

6) Disruption of supply chains, especially food

7) Being barred from federal work as a trans person

I expect the incoming admin to be making considerable progress on these outcomes within the first year. "Progress" does not necessarily mean "comes to pass"; it's too soon to know what the momentum and obstacles will be like for Project 2025 initiatives.

I'm not here to scaremonger, but it's incredibly important to be prudent as a trans person right now and start prepping for how to mitigate damage to yourself and how to support your community.

Your own lists of concerns will vary. But I suggest writing down your fears as specific as possible, taking a deep breath, then seeing how best you can plan for each.

There will be paperwork, there will be sacrifices, but also remember that building bonds with your community and taking care of yourself are also vitally important right now.
